When I was 15 years old I decided to go to the gym. To begin with I struggled to lift 40kg!! But the more I trained the stronger I became and the more I enjoyed it. Each time I would go I could lift a little bit more, and I was growing stronger with each session. And with this came the realisation that I was strong, and that I could actually have a career with something that I loved doing.
I tried rugby as a teenager, but after a couple of years I knew it was not for me. As my father liked body building when he was young, it inspired me to try the gym.
I entered my first competition when I was 17.
This was the Wales’ Strongest Man in 2013 which I entered again in 2014 taking place in Prestatyn North Wales. I came last in that competition, was disappointed at first, but it gave me more reason to train harder, and push myself more.
I then qualified for the UKJunior Strongest Man competitions in 2013 and 2014.
I train every weekday, and keep pushing myself. My regime differs on every session, whether it’s dead lifts or event training. My personal best at bench is 215kg, squat 260kg, dead lift 300kg.
My goal and my ambition is to become Wales and UK Strongest man by the time I’m 30, and then work myself up to be the World Strongest man!!
